This book is about terrible people who are terrible to each other. While I like the internal conflicts of her main characters, their gutsiness and longings, the main character here jumps into an affair ten minutes into the book, which just didn’t seem necessary within the larger context of the novel.
Thanks for the review! So why does she put it all on the line for an affair with an older, wealthy man? This novel almost glorifies her behavior when the novel ends and she still hasn’t told her husband the truth about her behavior.
This is the exception. Intensely annoying many times, but still bearable I think. But Claire, the main character in this book, was unbelievably z. For the delight in dads who absolutely adore their children. I don’t think she’ll ever be a favorite, but I’m enjoying her books. She also has so many mom moments–times when she is just so very tired of being a mom and other times when she seems to bask in her motherhood.
