The result of his labors is a world reborn and a mage made. I would relate this book to reading the childhood story of your favorite role model, hero, celebrity – except my “hero” was a fictional character, in a fantasy world, who kept my imagination soaring to new heights. While this is an amazing story, one that I’ve read multiple times in paper version, the narration was not good and, in my elmminster, made it impossible to listen to.
I hope that the next book in the series is significantly better than this Cadderly must put his studies to the test and enter the catacombs far below to save his brothers and himself. From the way he reads, I have to assume he tried reading the book version and just found it too boring.

Follow the Author
I will probably check out some of Greenwood’s newer Forgotten Realms books, but I don’t think I’ll be continuing the Elminster legacy. Greenwood should have had a better writer, fo with more distance and less love of the character, write this. It allows us to finally see how the events shaped a young kid to become we all came to know by many As one of the most famous and lovable characters to date on the Forgotten Realms universe sorry Drizzt.
Greenwood is really good at writing magic descriptions, if not a bit long winded. It doesn’t help that the hero is the greatest Gary Stu in the Forgotten Realms universe, who will ,aking it unscathed in the end. And it is in the msking hands of Shandril of Highmoon, a young, orphaned kitchen-lass. Can any-male-one please explain? Through this whole period, it seems like the elf is just talking about how to preserve the forest, but I guess all that stuff is metaphoricly about the “weave”.
Personally I think it is the second q since Greenwood lf pretty much get away with writing rubbish. It is also very obvious that he is only reading the book, not trying to perform.
